About The Event
Set on a fictional remote Scottish island where a group of new arrivals await the results of their asylum claims. LIMBO centers on Omar (Amir El-Masry), a young Syrian musician who is burdened by his grandfather's oud, the king of Arabic music instruments, which he has carried all the way from his homeland. It combines a powerful evocation of the tedium, loneliness and desperation experienced by many refugees with absurdist humour and moments of great warmth.
The film will be preceded by a 2 course meal at 6.15 (£7), there will be the usual bar, an interval with ice creams on sale and a raffle.
